An intriguing Colt 1849 pocket model, made about 1862 with matching numbers of 210xxx on the trigger-guard and back strap and the frame and barrel is 169xxx, No grips but gun indexes , rotates and locks-up. Some screws were replaced long ago. With a 4" long octagonal barrel. Found in the wilderness under leaves and shallow dirt.Bottom of the back-strap has engraved 19th century initials. of JC? Left side is pitted while the right side is mostly clear! When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
