Description:
The Baker Standard is one of the hardest models of Baker guns to find. Only 4 are known among Baker collectors. As can be seen in the pictures, this one is in vary nice condition. It has been very nicely restocked with modern dimensions (LOP – 14 ¼”, DC – 1 ½”, and DH - 2 ½”). The 30” barrels are marked Nitro Rolled Steel and beautifully reblued and some parts do not match.
It is this collector’s opinion that the actions were forged by Baker Gun & Forging for Syracuse Arms when Frank Hollenbeck started that company. Then he was plant manager for some time at Baker. He left this model design when he moved on to the Baltimore Gun Company.
