"Serial number 157. Made circa 1907. 45 ACP caliber with a 5 ½" barrel. This is a US trials gun that was repurchased by Savage after the trials, had the top of the slide marking removed, refurbished and sold to Tryon in Philadelphia for the commercial market. This gun is in excellent condition as refurbished. This gun has some unusual features. The top rib has been cleaned, there is no “Safe" and “Fire" marking present and never looks like there was one and finally there is an unusual curved curt in the frame on the right hand side of the top of the grip. Magazine is original, but has no visible number. Bore is excellent. Grips are excellent and numbered to the gun. This is a very rare gun with only approximately 288 manufactured. This is a very fine example!
