"Serial No. 480766B, made in 1894, .44-40, 30" round barrel marked “WINCHESTER’S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN.CT./KINGS-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860". Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling noted. Metal is mostly a smooth grey patina, forward of the receiver is marked “44 CAL", 3RD model dust cover is present. Brass carrier is stamped “44 CAL". Tang is marked “MODEL 1873" in between decorative scroll. Wood is in very good condition with minimal handling wear noted, light varnish is noted. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Majority of these musket style guns went to south America
