LAYAWAY???? ................Peabody Military Rifle in fine to excellent condition. The rifle is all original with original military style leather sling. The rifle retains 70% toned rainbow hues on the frame, about 60% dark blue mixing to brown on the barrel. The stock shows light use marks with scattered bumps and minor scratches. Original sights, #41xx matching in two spots on the gun. It appears to be .45 RF, I see no firing pin when I look down the bore. I believe it is .45 Peabody RF. These guns came in many calibers, since they were shipped to many militaries all over the world after the Civil War. Including some that remained in the US. The bore is excellent. A .45 Colt cartridge fits in the chamber, but is too short. It has a proof on the barrel breech, fine to excellent overall with excellent bore. Crisp mechanics. Serial number 41xx matches everywhere where I have found a number on the barrel, stock, both parts of the rear sight. .... 2nd handgun SHIPS FREE, with this one!...S/H $60....Thanks Greg 663-74, 288
