This Listing from a Family Collection of Shooting Sports Enthusiasts is a Very Lightly Used and Near-New Condition; Circa 1959; Serial # K 385,9XX; Smith & Wesson Model 48; Four-Screw Sideplate; .22 Magnum Rimfire; 6-Inch Barrel Revolver. It is original and correct in every way with S&W Standard (Magna Style) Factory Grips (not numbered) with Diamond Escutcheon Surround; Frame-Mounted (fixed) Trigger Stop; Pinned Barrel; Recessed Cylinders; Windage & Elevation Click-Adjustable Factory Target Rear Sight; Serrated Topstrap and Barrel Rib; Ramped Partridge Front Sight; and Frame-Mounted Rimfire Firing Pin. The barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON” on the Left Side; “22 M.R.F. CTG.” on the Right Side. The revolver has been fired very little – possibly test-fired-only -- with no wear from usage besides marks on the frame face from opening and closing the cylinder. Similar opening-closing marks appear on the cylinder yoke. There are very few blemishes from storage and handling, and only a faint cylinder line is visible. The Barrel is Bright as are the Cylinders; Rifling and Bore are Perfect. Not being dealers or experts, we estimate this revolver at approximately 98 Percent (or better) Modern Condition. Condition is best judged from the photos, so please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be troublesome and costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations.
