"NSN, made in 1843, .54 caliber, 36"" 7 groove ""US"" proofed rifled barrel dated 1843. Metal and other iron parts are a smooth light grey patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation noted. Lock is dated 1843 with ""US/H.DERINGER/PHILAD"". Stock is good with scattered nicks, dings and scratches from handling wear. Bore is good with strong rifling. 13,000 total manufactured.
