"NSN, made in 1826, .54 caliber, 36" 7 groove round barrel marked “US/HV/P". Barrel is in the bright with pin-prick surface oxidation visible. Lock plate is a dull grey patina with mottled surface oxidation visible. Lock is marked “U.S./S.NORTH" forward of the hammer. Rear is marked “MIDDLETON/CONN/1825 vertically. Barrel tang is dated 1826. Stock is good with handling and usage wear noted with sharp edges visible along the mortise. Faint cartouche is visible, Action holds at half and full cock. Approximately 7,200 were manufactured.
