Description:
The M1895 Lee Navy was manufacutred by Winchester from 1895-1907. It was straight pull bolt action rifle that shot a 6mm (6mm Lee Navy) round fed throught a five round magazine that took en bloc clips. The rifle was produced in small numbers (~15,000) and was distributed to the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corp. It saw action in the Boxer Rebellion, The Spanish-American War, and the Phillipine-American War.
For sale here is one such M1895 Lee Navy. It is in good shape! Wooden stock features mild amounts of scratches and dings. Butt plate is in decent shape with some discoloration. Reciever, magazine, barrel, and bolt show signs of MINOR discoloration and surface level pitting. Bore shows signs of use. Stamping on left side of the reciever reads "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." and "NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A.PAT.OCT.10.93.JAN.30.94.OCT.8.95." Engraving on left side of the barrel near receiver erads ".236 U.S.N.". Other engravings on left side of the barrel reads "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL- ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" and "MANUFACTURED BY THE -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN.U.S.A.-". Top of reciever has a serial number "12047". This particular rifle was sportorized in factory.
