LAYAWAY? ......Winchester M-1873 Octagon Barrel Rifle in 44-40. .... Mottled brown overall with clear markings. Overall moderate bumps, dings and use mark is to the stock and metal. Clear markings, fine wood to metal fit. The bore is strongly rifle with widely scattered shallow spotting the length of the bore. The action Cycles and hammer locks up, holds in both full and half cock..Dust cover closes to within 1/4", needs adjustment.Cycles nicely and my gunsmith said it was fireable. Serial number #514171. This gun was made in 1897.
