Description:
Ivo Fabbri SxS sidelock 20-gauge shotgun.  A magnificent game gun with 27” barrels, straight grip stock, a “smallish” beavertail forearm, single trigger, automatic ejectors and assisted opening

On a Fabbri every part, every piece, every detail is the very best which is why Fabbri guns are regarded as among the very “best of the best”!  And this one is certainly no exception.

Start with the 27” Boehler Super Blitz Steel barrels that have perfect .625” bores and are choked to Fabbri #7 & #7 which measure .030” & .030” extra full.  (The chokes are ridiculously tight, but a fine bore specialist can open them to whatever suits your shooting style.)  Fitted on top of the barrels is a slightly raised/tapered hand filed solid rib.  At the muzzle is a single silver front bead.

The sidelock action, in addition to being a mechanical work of art, is the canvas that was used by Italian Master engraver Claudio Tomasoni to create a spectacular combination of Bulino game scenes and delicate floral borders.  The left side plate is done with Mallards.  The right-side plate done with Grouse and the bottom done with fabulous Woodcock.  This masterful coverage extends to the forearm “iron” and the cap for the Anson style release as well as the trigger guard and the bottom tang along with the top lever, top tang, safety and shoulders.

The straight hand stock and the forearm are made from a handsome, straight but deeply grained piece of French Walnut.  Both pieces are perfectly checkered and finished.  The stock has a 15” length of pull to the checkered butt; 1 7/16” drop at comb; 2” drop at the heel and 3/8” cast for a right-hand shooter at the heel.

The date code is AD so this gun was made in 1978 making it 46 years old…and it hardly looks it.  I know it has been fired and probably hunted with, but whoever had it took proper care for it and treated it like the best gun it is!

Weighs 7 lbs. 0 oz. and balances perfectly between the hands.

Comes in the correct full leather luggage style case.
