Starting with quality rifles such as the Ruger No.1, Mauser, Winchester Model 70, Ruger M77, CZ, or BRNO, I transform them into sleek, slender hunting rifles inspired by the elegance of 1910 designs. I also craft the elegant Faeton Underhammer muzzleloading rifles and Model 1911 .45 Super Longslide pistols. Call me or visit my site, which is listed on some of the photos, for more information regarding my line of fine bespoke firearms. Also check out my Custom Services listing under GUNSMITHING. Description: 6-INCH .45 SUPER LONGSLIDE FOR SALE! This .45 Super Longslide is the 6-inch version and features casecoloring of the slide and frame while the controls, screws and pins are nitre-blued to a beautiful cobalt blue color. This pistol fires both .45 Super and .45 ACP without modification of the pistol. The price for this 6-inch variation is only $2500. As stated, this .45 Super Longslide is the 6-inch version and features beautiful casecoloring of the slide and frame. However, Cerakote is an optional finish if you order one. The Cerakote finish is not only tough as nails, but provides the possibility of a variety of colors to finish the pistol into a unique one-of-a-kind custom pistol. The .45 Super Longslide is not your typical overbuilt cream puff 1911 clone. Designed to handle the awesome .45 Super® cartridge, the .45 Super Longslide is a powerful, accurate, rugged and reliable pistol that shoots exactly where you point it with enough power to meet your challenges of it. While of “retro” design, the .45 Super Longslide is a serious handgun for the serious hunter, explorer, and outdoorsman. The .45 Super® cartridge is dimensionally identical to the original .45 ACP round. However, that’s were the similarity stops. The Super case has special heat treating and a thicker head than the standard ACP and is loaded to higher pressures making it significantly more powerful than the hardball .45 ACP. This requires a substantially modified 1911 to effectively deal with the resulting stresses. (Simply using a stronger recoil spring doesn't make it a SUPER regardless of what internet gunsmiths may claim.) Despite the fact that it has been on the scene since 1988, the .45 Super® cartridge seems to be one of the best-kept secrets in 1911 land. As a big game hunting cartridge, the .45 Super has power to spare for big game. One would think that a cartridge that delivers such significant performance over the standard .45 ACP would be legend by now. But, it seems not so. How powerful is it? When fired from our .45 Super Longslide the .45 Super® has more remaining energy at 200 yards than the .45 ACP has at the muzzle. And speaking of the ACP, if one chooses to shoot .45 ACP from our .45 Super Longslide, (yes, it shoots .45 ACP without modification) you can expect the same performance as when shooting .45 ACP+P from a standard 5-inch barrel. Commercial ammunition is available from Underwood Ammo and Buffalo Bore, and Starline makes the brass - and you use standard .45 ACP loading dies to roll your own. What could be easier? While the pistol featured here for sale is a 6-inch version, we also produce a full 7-inch .45 Super Longslide with a price of $3000.
