Description:
This is a Third Generation Cap & Ball 1861 Navy pistol. The pistol’s serial number is 43296. It is a reproduction of the extremely rare 4-screw model which was fitted for a shoulder stock. Colt only made 100 of the original 4-screw ’61 Navies. An original would cost $6-10k. This second generation pistol has a 7 1/2 inch barrel chambered to shoot the 36 caliber ball and conical bullets. This pistol is in excellent mechanical condition with smooth metal and excellent markings. The cylinder engraving is light from holster wear. This Colt is not adaptable for a shoulder stock as there is no indentation on the backstrap for the shoulder stock to engage. Why Colt did this is beyond me. The 1861 Navy is considered by many to be Colts most attractive percussion revolver. This Colt has no box but does come with a nice holster. Great for re-enactors or to simply display.
LEGAL: No FFL or C&R license is required! I will require a photo copy of your state ID or driver’s license with payment to verify your age. I am a collector – not a dealer, so it is your responsibility to know your local laws regarding the transfer of antique guns before . It is my intent to follow ALL national, state and local laws. If you win an and the item cannot legally be sent to you, I will charge a 20% restocking fee.
All firearms are being sold as antiques and I make NO warranties or guarantees, whatsoever, as to a firearm’s safety. All firearms should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing.
SHIPPING: No local pick up. No international shipments. Shipping within the continental United States will be $60 for long arms and $30 for pistols. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii will incur additional charges (I’ll only charge the incremental difference in shipping costs). I’ll do my best to ship as quickly as possible, but please keep in mind that I’m an individual and don’t have a shipping department (unless you count my wife).
INSPECTION PERIOD: I offer a three day, no questions asked, inspection period. I’ll refund the purchase price but not the shipping/insurance. Returned firearms must NOT have been fired, disassembled, or altered in any way.
