"NSN, made in 1848, .69 caliber, 42"" round barrel marked ""US/JH"" barrel tang is dated 1848. Barrel and other iron parts are a brown lacquer finish. Stock is very good with cartouche visible with minor handling wear noted. Bore is good with oxidation visible along the sides. Lock plate is dated 1848 ""MILL/CREEK/PA"", action functions correctly. This conversion was made from 1848-1849 with 2,000 made.
