This alteration uses the original cock which would have held a metal striker in the jams to strike the percussion cap. Barrel has a good bore. Metal is a smooth brown patina. The lock is marked “Tower" with crown/ “GR" in the center and crown/ broad arrow to the right. Below that, it is marked “R.&R.S." The barrel has the usual military proofs. The stock is good with “RC" on the left flat and a period repaired crack on the left from the trigger to the breech. This repair brass reinforcements at the top and bottom.
