Description:
Smith & Wesson Model of 1955 .45 ACP pre model 25 revolver, serial # 166xxx. Only manufactured 1956-1957, features a 6 1/2"pinned barrel with original target sights and five-screw frame. All matching numbers including extractor. Case colored target trigger and hammer, the trigger having an added over-travel screw. The accompanying grips are beautifully crafted thumb rest targets, expertly carved and chekered. They alone would command a $500 price. Very good overall appearance retaining 95% original factory blue and case colors. There is a noticeable cylinder turn line and a few scattered light handling marks. This firearm was obviously owned by a target shooter who gave the revolver use, but also excellent care. Included is a Smith & Wesson factory letter.
