"Made circa 1840s. 50 caliber with a 35 ½" half round half octagon heavy barrel. Metal has a mixture of original brown, but mostly a smooth brown patina. Very well made gun and in very fine condition. This gun is a heavy target gun Lock is nicely engraved and is marked “Steele &/ Warren/ Albany" This firm hade guns during the 1840s. The stock is very fine with nice sharp edges The horse head patch box is exceptional. Very attractive Half Stock Gun!
