Description:
"Serial No. 4057, circa 1870’s, .38CF, 3 ½" round ribbed barrel. Bore has frosting and pitting visible in the grooves, rifling is present. Early production with exposed cylinder pin and with a semi-circular cut out on the recoil shield for loading, Barrel is stamped with Hopkins and Allen address, frame is stamped “Merwin Hulbert & Co./ New York U.S.A." Opposite side is stamped .38 CAL. Light surface flaking is visible mostly on the edges. Dog head grips are in excellent condition, action indexes and functions correctly with a tight a lock up.
