Description:

Caesar Guerini (CG) Forum Sporter O/U (2006 "later" model). 12 ga, 2 3/4" chambers, 32" VR O/U barrels with extened CG chokes (6 incl). NRA Excellent condition in CG hard case. This is a great deal on a pre-owned, premium shotgun in top-notch condition!

CG's Forum Sporter is a premium O/U, purpose built for sporting competition. Each Forum Sporter is a sturdy box lock, hand-fitted with all surfaces hand-polished inside and out. The long, sturdy barrels contribute to the gun's exceptional strength and handling. Built in 2006 ("CA" Proof Date), this Forum Sporter is an example of the "Later or Current Model". The chokes, vent rib, and white front bead are definitive. Each Forum is highly embellished and beautifully finished. These guns are both works of art as well as a highly functional shotguns. Don't miss your chance to pick up this ornate and high-performing competition classic from one of the world's premier manufacturers!

This Italian-built Forum Sporter is expertly finished in rich blue-black except at the jeweled monobloc. The 12g 32” chrome-lined barrels have 2 ¾” (70mm) chambers, and the top rib is ventilated, patterned, and mounts a white front and gold mid bead. The solid, forged steel receiver, trigger guard, and controls sport a coin-metal finish, exquisitely engraved with flushing game birds over dense scrollwork. Executed by Bottega C Geovanelli, engraving covers all surfaces, including the tangs, trigger guard, and action lever. The single, selective trigger is mounted in a shoe enabling ¼ in length-of-pull (LOP) adjustment. The manual tang safety has a built-in barrel selector (U=2 dot, L=1 dot), and the gun is fitted with vigorous ejectors. The Anson push-rod foreend latch operates smoothly. Screws on the lower tang behind the trigger are timed. The wood is top quality matched English walnut, beautifully figured with a burl-like pattern highlighted by the lustrous hand-rubbed oil finish. The pistol grip stock is capped by a smooth, brown rubber CG recoil pad ½ in thick. The checkering is well executed on the grip and fore end. The gun is fitted for CG's extended choke system (Incl 6: IC [2ea], LM, M, C, SK). The fitted, padded synthetic hard case has combination latches. Caesar Guerini built this in Italy for a discriminating shooter!

Traded in order to thin a collection, this Forum (s/n 1101xx) is in NRA Excellent condition, clean and well lubricated. Estimated original finish: Receiver 97%; Barrel 99%, Overall about 98%. Surface-metal finish issues are almost all due to the passage of time. Mechanical dings, dents, and scratches essentially do not exist. Engraved receiver surfaces have a uniformly light tarnish with a scattering of darker blebs on the flats, particularly inside the action. Barrel finish above wood is an unmarred rich satin blue-black with the exception of a thin track of light freckling at the upper barrel's right rear above the caliber stamp along with a few spots of rust wash on the adjacent top rib. Under the fore-end wood there is the expected wear at the contact points and pivot typical of O/U's, but this is light due to low use and highly precise construction. Chambers and bores are in mirror-bright Excellent condition. Functionally, the gun is extremely tight and the action is stiff, but the gun breaks down and comes together smoothly. All controls and action parts work properly. The wood finish is breathtaking, still flaunting all its original luster although several light handling dings are visible on the stock. Checkering is intact. The recoil pad is in Excellent condition, as are the chokes. The case exterior has been around the block a few times, but overall the case is in Very Good condition. You'll have a tough time finding a CG Forum in this kind of condition elsewhere, so act fast!
