Description:
This is a full and sealed box of .38 Long Rim Fire black powder ammunition manufactured by Winchester. The two piece box has the early "Metallic Cartridges" call out along with the incorrect Oct. 24 Stetsons patent date placing this box firmly in the mid 1870's. In excellent condition with excellent graphics and color especially on the primary label showing only some minor flaking on the top and some fading of the side seal label. There is an overall coating of shellack that has sealed the box and preserved the colors. An excellent very early Winchester box.
