The Zeiss scope has been polished and blued making the Zeiss marking faint however the front of the tube reads “J. RIGBY & CO. 43 SACKVILLE ST. LONDON . W." which is very clear and defined leading us to believe this gun had some work done by Rigby at some point. Snap action under lever with double triggers and a flip up integral peep sight on the top tang in front of the safety. The stock has a 14" LOP to a checkered horn butt plate with engraved screws, engraved trap door fitted for extra cartridges that also has a rear sling swivel and a horn pistol grip cap with engraved screw. This gun is extremely ornate, fully engraved with stag and roe deer game scenes on the action, pheasant on the trap door and oak leaf scroll. The top tang is fully covered in oak leaf scroll with a matted circle and raised gold “FN" in front of the integral folding peep sight. The stock made of nicely figured birds eye walnut and is very ornately carved behind the checkering and at the headstock and forend tip with the same oak leaf scroll. Bores are excellent and overall it is in very good condition with some handling marks on the stock and forearm and minimal wear to the bluing. Price: $8,500.00 |
