Description:
Arrieta 12g Model 802 Self-Opening Sidelock Ejector Game Gun.

The 800 series includes Arrieta’s top-of-the-line models that are based on the H&H type bar-action sidelock. The Model 802 is not hand detachable and has disk-set strikers, intercepting sears, gold lined cocking indicators, automatic safety, a rolled guard bow for the RH shooter, and a single trigger also slightly cast for the RH shooter.

H&H type acanthus scroll engraving on the action and the “peacock” feather texturing on the top lever. The Maker’s name is engraved in the center of each lockplate and on the bottom of the action body and the action and furniture have a brushed or “coin” finish. The monogram: “RRS” is inlayed in gold on the guard bow.

The 28” chopper lump barrels have a 2 ¾" chambers and a raised flat hand-filed game rib. The barrels are also fitted with automatic ejectors and an H&H type Self-Opening mechanism. The right barrel is choked .011” in and .024” in the left barrel. The bottom of the right barrel has four stars (**** for IC) and three stars on the left barrel (*** for MOD).

The gun is stocked to the fences and made from a very nicely figured piece of walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish, a semi-pistol grip (rounded knob), traditional drop points, and a 14 ¾" LOP over a leather covered pad. The semi-beavertail has an Anson push-rod and is checkered with Mullered borders to match the stock’s grip.

The gun weighs an appropriate 7 lbs. 1 oz.

The gun has a “00” date code in the serial number for the year 2000 as date of manufacture.

The gun does not show any evidence of having been hunted with, but has probably been shot a little bit. The stock shows a few handling marks that would easily rub out and there are no cracks or repairs. The barrels are tight on face, the self-opening mechanism and ejectors are strong and well timed, and trigger works well. There is no evidence of dents or bulges in the barrels and the bores remain perfect.

Overall the gun remains in excellent condition and represents a lot of value.
