Description:
"Made circa 1925- 1934. 30-06 caliber with a 24" barrel. This gun was built on a 1903 action by master gun maker Rober Griffith Owen otherwise known as R. G. Owen. This gun is in excellent condition essentially all of the original finish. The stocks are excellent showing very fine checkering and hardly any use. The checkering is very fine in Owen’s normal style with very fine checkering, carving along the border. The floor plate and trigger guard are Rudolph Kornbrath Engraved as well as the pistol grip cap. In the middle of the floor plate is the National Rifle Association’s seal inlaid in gold. The top of the barrel is marked. “R. G. Owen Sauquoit NY R Hanson" R. Hanson was presumably the person this gun was made for. R. G. Owen’s is considered one of the very finest rifle makers of his time building his guns to with the same craftmanship and quality of English best guns. Rudolph Kornbrath was a master engraver whose career ended early due to a stroke. He engraved for all of the major gun companies and guns he engraved command a premium. This gun truly was made by the best of the best!
