"Serial number 1390. Made in 1874. 44-40 caliber with a 24" octagon barrel. This is a nice sharp gun with a light brown to gray patina on the barrel. There is still protected areas of blue on the barrel. The frame has approximately 80% of the original blue. The wood is excellent and original. This is an early gun that has the raised thumb print dust cover and squared off lifter. Early 1873s are hard to fine in nice condition and this gun has great wood and a really nice frame. Comes with letter.
