Description:
Custom Mauser G33/40 chambered in .280 Remington. This rifle started life as a Gewehr 33/40 that was a rotating bolt-action rifle based heavily on the Czech vz.33. It is fitted with a 25-inch Douglas barrel and the metal work was accomplished by Dennis Olson. It rests in a beautifully checkered walnut stock with Ebony tip that was created by Bill Ferguson. It has a front blade sight and a folding rear sight that were expertly added by New England Custom Sights. It has bases and rings for scope mounting. The .280 Remington is a cartridge based on the .30-06 necked down to accept 7 mm bullets. The cartridge is capable of generating slightly higher velocities in heavier bullet weights than the .270 Winchester due to a marginally greater case capacity. .280 Remington
