"German Model 1871 carbine converted to 4mm Rimfire. Converted for indoor use. The carbine was originally an 11mm Mauser German calvary carbine. It was later converted to 4mm indoor/ parlor rifle. The conversion consists of: approximately 8" 4mm barrel insert with an extractor, new front and rear sights, bolt modification for Rimfire cartridge, addition of an adjustable double set trigger. The overall length is approximately 40". Barrel is 20". Metal has a smooth gray/brown patina. Stock is very good with multiple inspection stamps and no crack or chips. Serial number is “6578" and matching. Receiver is dated “1877". Action functions correctly. Here’s your chance to own a very unusual Model 1871 carbine. This would be an incredibly interesting gun for any Model 71 collection!
