Description:
Ultra Rare Joseph Golcher carbine

Rifle assembled in the United States using a British Trade percussion lock made by JOSEPH GOLCHER of KING STREET, DARLASTON in STAFFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND, who worked from 1834 to 1865. We estimate that this octagonal barrel carbine was made about 1840 -1850.
  • It features all brass mounts except for the nose cap, which is German Silver, and is half stocked.
  • The very heavy octagonal barrel is 26 inches in length and has a .39" bore, a common size, and it has 7 groove decent condition rifling.
  • The Carbine barrel appears to be original to the rifle.
  • The overall length is 32 inches. The Carbine also is equipped with a double set trigger.
Condition: The brass cap box cover is missing, a splinter of wood is missing from the right forepiece, Smalll Crack in left forepiece in front of the trigger, the left forepiece is cracked and repairable. Hammer does not hold on full or half cock.
