"Made circa 1860s. 4 ¼" blade with a 8" blade overall. The blade has a dark gray patina. The ricasso is marked “M. PRICE" The handles are ivory in good condition. This knife comes with the original sheath. Michael Price is one of the most famous San Francisco Knife makers along with Will and Fink. He came to San Francisco in 1856 and began making knives in 1858. This exact knife is pictured in the book Knifemakers of Old San Francisco by Bernard Levine.
