This is a 1905 built Parker Brothers Grade 3, shotgun with Twist Steel barrels which is a scarce combination with only 25 recorded in the Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book. The overall condition is about very good to fine with the barrels showing very good twist pattern and much of the original brown visible silvering in the carry areas having several small dents on each tube. The frame is mostly pewter gray with near excellent scroll detail and Parker Bros marking on either side. The original stock and forearm have worn smooth with traces of the original checkering under a heavily crazed varnish layer, a small crack on the upper left wrist just above the added pin which extends through the action. It is sighted with the original ivory front bead and has the original shield escutcheon in the stock. The original butt pad has been replaced with a red rubber pad and the original grip cap is present but heavily worn. The barrels are slightly off face with the lever resting just slightly left of center. The automatic safety functions properly with crisp trigger pulls. The LOP is 13 3/4" over a later added rubber butt pad with drops of 2" and 3" at the comb and heel respectively. A well used Parker that would make a fine candidate for restoration.
