Description:
"NSN, circa late 1850’s, .451 caliber, 32" five-groove round barrel. Bore is bright with very sharp rifling present. Barrel and other metal parts show a thinning of original blue mixed with a brown patina. Barrel is marked with “TURNERS PATENT" with the underside stamped with Birmingham proofs, “52" and “HH" inspector marks. Stock is in very good condition with light handling marks noted. Just above the lock plate is stamped “1539". Action is tight and holds at half and full cock. A small number of these rifles with used by confederate sharpshooters during the war, as there are no confederate markings on this rifle; this example is still a most have for the civil war collector!
