"Belgian alteration to percussion of a German Potsdam musket. Overall length is approximately 51½". The 36¼" round barrel has an octagon breech section. It is approximately .61 caliber with a fair smooth bore All the metal has an even brown patina with a few areas of scattered roughness. Stock is good with some wood loss around the butt plate heel and barrel tang. There are repairs on both sides of the barrel tang. Lock is unmarked. The barrel and breech are numbered “79055". The breech has three proof marks. The barrel is marked “Belgium". Ramrod is present. Action functions correctly. This is most likely a Civil War import.
