"U.S. Model 1819 Flintlock Pistol by Simeon North. Lock plate marked 1822 and has a sliding hammer safety which engages on half cock only. Barrel is marked JD, P, U.S., and SNY (tiny letters) for State of New York (Militia)? Lock has the eagle, S. North and partial address Middtn. Conn. This pistol in our opinion is a reconversion. Overall, this old soldier is in pretty good shape. Barrel has some pits. Stock is solid. No chips, no cracks. Captive ramrod appears original to the pistol.
