Description:
For sale is a used Lahti Model 40 9mm pistol manufactured in 1944 and issued under the Danish exile authoritiesduring WWII. This particular pistol was part of a batch of 2,000 pistols ordered by the Danish government-in-exile and delivered in 1944. The pistols were inspected and marked by Cpt Sten Stenmo (SS), whose inspection stamp is clearly visible on the back of the pistol. These pistols have serial numbers ranging from 67,000 to 69,202, though some examples can be found within the 64,000 to 74,000 serial number range as well.
This Lahti M40 features the iconic toggle-lock mechanism and is in good used condition with typical signs of age and handling, but it remains fully functional. In addition to the pistol itself, this sale includes three 9mm magazines, an original leather holster, and a cleaning kit, making it a complete package for collectors or enthusiasts.
The historical significance of the SS inspection stamp adds considerable value, especially for those interested in WWII-era firearms with ties to the Danish exile government and the broader context of Scandinavian resistance efforts during the war.
