Custom – “Chunk” – Heavy barrel – 45 cal – Flint – R Southgate – Stk# P-36-69
This 45 caliber Custom Chunk gun was made by R. Southgate sometime around 1946 - 1949 and is the 5th one made. This rifle has a blued heavy 1:60 twist 46” x 1-3/8” straight round barrel. Mounted to the barrel are custom sight blocks with dovetailed iron sights. The metal is in very good condition. The bore is in very good condition with clean sharp rifling. The P++ Maple full stock is in good condition with handling and usage marks throughout and a splice of wood under lock plate that is mounted with all brass furniture. The custom lock functions correctly and is activated by double set triggers. Overall condition is: Good to Very Good. The Length is 63-1/2”, Length of pull is 14-1/2”, and the weight is 25.8 lbs.
