Description:
This is a rare surviving piece of ephemera from NY in the 1870's from the company of Onion, Haigh & Cornwall "importers of Guns, Rifles, Pistols, Gun Material, Ammunition, / FISHING TACKLE / Base Balls, Bats and Sporting Goods generally." The 1874 dated ledger receipt shows an Allen Side hammer .22 revolver with the statement that they were "Sole Agents for Allen's Rifles, Pistols, Cartridges, Breech and Muzzle-Loading Shot Guns, &c.." Encased between two sheets of thick plastic the preserved receipt remain in excellent condition with crisp graphics. This will make an excellent display item to pair with an antique Side Hammer or other Allen firearm.
