Description:
"Serial No. 615913, circa 1915, .30-06, 24" round barrel marked “SA/10-15". Springfield barrel dated October 1915 with a good bore with light frosting and pitting noted in the grooves, strong rifling is visible. Original barrel/receiver match. This is a match-grade 1903 rifle that was authorized for sale through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship to members of the NRA in a program that began in 1913, but it is not “star gauged" as rifles sold through the NRA would be after 1921. Original blued finish is present across all metallic parts although it has matured to a dull brownish patina in some areas. The stock and handguard are matching in color and condition but both have been refinished. Stock is equipped a single recoil bolt, grasping grooves and a “JSA" cartouche on the left side just above the trigger. Checkered buttplate and “high hump" handguard. (DALLAS LOCATION)
