Description:
Southern Arsenal percussion converted U.S. Model 1819 S. North Flintlock pistol. This example is in fine condition and good working order. Lock has a tight working action and holds at half and full cock. No missing parts, no cracks in the stock, only has the initials "H.K." Carved on the left hand side of the stock near the breech. While originally produced in flintlock, this gun was later converted over to percussion in a southern Arsenal. This style of conversion is a French, or drum,
bolster style, and reflects the same methods used at the Memphis Arsenal and others arsenals associated with Memphis just prior to the civil war. Refer to Dr. Murphys, Confederate Rifles and Muskets for more examples.
