Description:
This is a Vintage British Military Helio 5" Mk V (Heliograph) Leather Case. The Mark V came into use around 1904 and was used for the next 50 years or more. This Mark V Heliograph carrier is very well made in thick, sturdy leather and with strong brass and copper fixings. It is in near excellent condition with nice tight stitching and some age soiling and broad arrow marked. The case has the original cotton canvas shoulder strap in excellent condition. Embossed on the front of the case are the words "HELIO 5" Mk. V." "Geo.G. Bussey & Co. LtD 1916". Also inscribed in the front is " 16855", might be a unit number. Approx. size: 10 x 8 x 4 ½".
