Description:
About: Custom made bolt action rifle featuring a Remington 700 stainless steel action, Chambered in 280 Rem Ackley Improved. This improved version will nearly match the velocity of a 7mm Rem Mag with less powder, less kick and improved barrel life.
Barrel: Shilen, Match Grade, #3 contour, 9 twist stainless, finished to 26" OAL with a 11 degree target crown and SAAMI standard chamber. The 280 Ackley is now a standard cartridge which will allow both standard Remington 280 cartridges as well as the improved version. Barrel is threaded for the included muzzle brake (up to 60% reduction) and thread protector
Action: Remington 700, adjustable trigger, and 2 position safety Drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Magazine will accommodate 1 additional round. (drop floor plate) Chamber accommodates all factory loaded ammunition.
Stock: Fancy Claro Walnut, with hand-cut 20 line per inch checkering done in a point style pattern. Checkering on the forend is wrap around. Comes with a Pachmayr D752 Decelerator recoil pad. The stock is carved into the typical Monte Carlo style with a a shadow line cheek piece. Drop at nose of the comb is 3/4". Drop at heal is 1.75". Neutral cast and no toe out. Length of pull is 14.25 inches. Barreled action is fully bedded. Dakota style sling swivel bases are installed. Forend tip is ebony with a maple spacer. Grip cap is skeleton style with checkered field.
Finishes: All of the metal work has been glass beaded with fine glass. The finish will match most matte finished rifle scopes. The stock sports multiple hand rubbed coats of TruOil and has a semi-gloss appearance. The checkering was treated with TruOil as well (sealing coats only to retain grip texture)
