Description:
Superb Custom-Sporter-Restoration of a Used High-Wall 1885 Rifle in .225 Winchester Caliber; slightly under 23- ¼ Inch Length, Medium-Weight & Tapered Round Sporter Barrel with Recessed Target Crown. The number 220 is stamped on the bottom of the receiver ahead of the lever in a place and pattern that does not look like an original factory serial number. If it was, the rifle would be first year of manufacture in 1885 -- but we cannot make that claim for the reason stated above. It Comes with a Leupold 3-9 Power Vari-X II Scope in Engraved Buehler Rings (the elevation adjustment cover is missing). The action was reblued long ago, leaving the Serial Number and Patent Dates Sharp & Legible. No markings are present on the upper tang. All functions are tight and secure; and the Bore has like-new rifling to the naked eye. The Elegantly Figured Custom Pistol Grip Stock has a Fine-Checkered Niedner Steel Buttplate; a Shadow-Outline Cheekpiece with Perfectly-Executed Diamond Border Checkering – as does the Schnabel Forend. Tunnel-Loop Sling Swivel Bases are attached to the forend and buttstock, with some wear on the wood as evidence of use & carry. Condition is very good to excellent; it shows mild (at most) wear for age with one small spot of blue being lost at the lower-right-front edge of the receiver. Because this is a refinished rifle with a custom stock, replacement barrel and other features, the condition is best judged by the photos. Please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees after buyer pays return shipping. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
