Description:
"Scarce Canadian 1867 Peabody rifle-musket. Overall length is approximately 54¾". The 36" round .50-60 Rimfire barrel has a very good bright bore with pitting toward the muzzle. The barrel has a smooth blue/brown patina. The case-hardened action and furniture have a smooth silver/brown patina. The wood is good with issue dents and nicks. The right side of the butt stock is correctly stamped “CM" and the left wrist has the correct “DWB" inspection stamp. The cleaning rod is absent and the two swivels are present. The action functions correctly with the exception that the hammer can be released with the trigger at half cock. Canada only purchased 3,000 Peabody 1867 rifles. They are very scarce today.
