Description:
This is a US WWI M1917 Bolo Knife/Scabbard. This example was manufactured by the American Cutlery Co. Chicago IL. in 1919. The unsharpened blade is in very good to excellent condition with most of the original finish intact, very nice edge and correct point. The blade is marked on the ricasso, "A.C.CO CHICAGO 1919" obverse "US MOD 1917 C.T". The guard has signs of wear on edges but nice finish elsewhere. The handle has a dark patina with medium dings and moderate wear. The very good to excellent condition "Brauer Bros. 1918" marked scabbard has good stitching and no stains with fully functioning hardware.
