Description:
This Remington U.S. Model 03-A3 is a right-hand bolt-action U.S. Military rifle in .30-06 Springfield. It has a 24-inch barrel. A blade front sight and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The butt stock is a smooth grip hardwood with a storage compartment. The forearm is a smooth grip, two-piece hardwood. Serial Number 4196503. Manufactured 1943-1944. The barrel is stamped "RA/(flaming bomb)/12-43". A faint "RA" and boxed "FJA" around a crossed cannons cartouche is stamped on the left of the stock. Fitted with an M1907 brown leather sling, and includes an oiler in the butt compartment. The 03-A3 were produced during WWII to arm the rapidly expanding armed forces. It has subtle variations from the original Model 03 to reduce costs and increase production. This rifle is fine overall as arsenal refurbished, with some areas of light freckling and finish wear, and some scratches and dents. it is mechanically excellent. .30-06 Springfield
