An Original, Well-Used and Very (very) Well Cared-For Smith & Wesson Model 52 “The Master” .38 Special Mid-Range Wadcutter Target Auto Pistol; SN 538XX which places the Manufacture Date within the first three years: 1961 – 1963, most likely 1963. Serial numbers began with ~50,000 and approximately 3,500 no-dash Model 52s were manufactured before the change to 52-1. This Pistol is in perfect working order with a mirror-bright and sharply-rifled bore. A previous owner had professionally-executed and deeply stippled texture added to the finger-grip & palm-heel areas of the front & rear surfaces of the grip-frame. The high-grade, finely checkered & slightly oversize wood grips are not original S&W. Everything else is original, and One S&W Magazine is Included. The finish is dull (from use) on the rear surface of the grip frame - above the stippled area. For a 60+ year-old Target Auto, the rest of the finish is remarkably preserved. Owing to age and the added stippling – for which the listing price is adjusted downwards, accordingly - we shall let condition be judged by the photos.
