This National Postal Meter U.S. Carbine M1 is a right-hand semi-auto U.S. Military rifle in .30 Carbine Cal. It has an 18-inch barrel. A blade front sight with protective sides and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The butt stock is a smooth grip hardwood pistol grip. The forearm is a smooth grip two-piece hardwood. Serial Number 1949258. The barrel is stamped "UNDERWOOD 8 - 43". This WWII Era lightweight short, barreled battle rifle was issued to paratroops, equipment drivers and officers in battle theaters around the globe. NPM produced over 400,000 carbines and were considered to be one of the highest quality carbines. It comes with 1 magazine. .30 Carbine
