Description:
This is a very well made French pocket compass with mahogany case and full length brass hinge. The condition of the case would be excellent but there is one wood split from drying, that being said the finish and edges are in excellent condition. There are two small pins in the lid that would have received the two latches that are not with the compass. The compass has an automatic needle lock built into the wooden case. The case measures 3X3X1 inch. The compass is made of metal with 8 points to the circle and 360 degrees marked. It is marked with true north arrow and MADE IN FRANCE on the dial. The brass fitting that floats the fine needle is topped with a ruby red stone.;
