C.P. "Chick" Donnelly, Siskiyou Gun Works, Grants Pass, Oregon custom double square bridge Mauser in 7mm Ackley Improved with a 24" barrel with hooded banded ramp front sight. Bore as new. Barrel is free floated. The double square bridge action is unmarked but I believe this to be a Doumalin action. The square bridges are machined for Talley lever quick release rings holding a Leupold Vari-X 3x9 Compact scope. Action features include a custom bolt handle with the knob flattened and checkered on the back side, and a three position side swing safety. Custom bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Lightweight synthetic stock with granite stone finish. LOP is 13 1/2" over a soft Pachmayr pad. 8lb 6oz as scoped.
Mr. Donnelly was a renown maker of target barrels and well known in benchrest and custom rifle circles. He was a charter member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. He was a close associate of P.O. Ackley for whom he made many barrels. Sadly he passed in 2009. The Ackley Improved cartridges are well known for being fireformed from their parent cases and this is no exception. This lightweight rifle remains new from the maker. Excellent value.
