Description:
Colt Model 1905 Rimless chambered in 45 Rim;ess with 5 inch barrel and factory original charcoal blue finish. This one has a very early serial number of 374. It would have been an early second year of production gun. Per the included Colt archive letter it stayed around the factory for 10 years and it was shipped to New York, New York March 27, 1916. This pistol remains in excellent condition. The original finish is above average. As seen in the photos they are traces of thinning and general handling scattered about. The small parts still retain lots of fire blue. Also the color casing on the hammer is still fairly strong. Overall the finish rates about 88%. The bore is mostly bright. That being said there are some scattered areas of fine pitting and light wear in the lands and grooves. The bore rates a 6 out of 10. The slide to frame fit is tight with zero wiggle. The trigger has a crisp clean break to it. The factory grips are in very high condition with mostly sharp checkers and only the slightest of handling. This is a fantastic early 1905 that will enhance any collection.
