Listed is a High Condition Winchester Model 1892 in 38 WCF (38-40) produced in 1909 (ser # 502441) with a 24" standard round barrel with a full length magazine and the correct original sights still present. The bore and rifling are in very clean bright condition with no pitting or other issues. There are no damaged screws or abuse to this rifle and the barrel and magazine tube retain 95% of the original blue, the receiver and bolt retain 93% bluing with handing and storage marks, sharp edge wear and minor flaking/fine oxidation on the receiver bottom. The lever, hammer and buttplate still have brilliant case hardening colors visiable as seen in attached photos. The buttstock and forearm retain almost all its original finish with the exception of the right side of the forearm showing what appears to be marks made from the rifle being improperly handled or stored ??? The wood to metal fit is tight and proud. The action works smooth and crisp, the loading gate shows very little signs of being loaded with cartridges. A real time piece and work of Art to survive 115 years and have this much condition, this Winchester rifle is a very fine representation of an early model 1892 rifle chambered for the highly collectable 38 WCF. This Big Bore Winchester rifle was well cared for and appreciated and would be a fine addition to any Western or Winchester collection.
