Winchester offered a Junior Rifle Corps Range Kit which included either a Model 02 (Kit No. 1) or a Model 04 (Kit No. 2) rifle and accessories including four boxes of Junior Rifle Corps 22 Short cartridges, a cartridge belt and pouch, 50 Junior Rifle Corps targets, a tube of Winchester rust remover, a tube of Winchester gun grease, a can of Winchester gun oil, cheese cloth for cleaning, a wire cleaning rod, and a ""handsome mission-finish wood case fitted with leather handle. Very few have survived. This is a No. 1 Range Kit with the Winchester Model 02 rifle. The 18"" round 22 Short, Long, or Extra Long caliber barrel has a very good bright bore with frosting in the grooves. The barrel and triggerguard are a smooth brown patina. The stock is fine with scattered light use dents and dings but no cracks or chips. The buttplate is intact. The wood case, which is extremely hard to find, is very good with intact latches and handle and no significant cracks. Overall, it is a very presentable case. The kit comes with the rifle and the wood case with the Winchester decal on the front. If you collect 22s, Winchesters, or early shooting club outfits, this is a good example and a great start on assembling a more complete kit. Price: $2,850.00 Curio/Relic: Yes |
